Adobe Creative Cloud applications receive major updates
Fri, 4th Nov 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Over the last few years, Adobe has moved its creative software applications across to a subscription-based licensing approach. This subscription-based approach means that its Creative Cloud customers get the latest releases as they become available.

We explain the Adobe move to subscription-based software here.

Yesterday the company announced major updates to a number of its applications. They include new offerings and functionality that enhance collaboration, learning and discoverability. Key updates include a modern new interface and fast, flexible coding engine in Dreamweaver CC, and a new Photoshop universal search bar that allows users to quickly search tools, panels, menus, Adobe Stock assets, help content and tutorials.

Adobe Spark allows anyone to easily create and share stunning content and Creative Cloud paid members now have access to exclusive features in Adobe Spark. Adobe is also bringing its popular mobile applications Photoshop Sketch, Adobe Comp CC and Photoshop Fix to Android with this release.

What's New:

The Adobe XD Beta is the only all-in-one tool for designing and prototyping mobile apps and websites. They've fine-tuned it with new workflows that make iteration, exploration and collaboration easier than ever. It now offers layers and symbols support, commenting on shared prototypes and mobile apps for iOS and Android with real-time design and prototype

Project Felix is a new app that empowers the creation of photo-realistic compositions combining 3D and 2D assets. It is a strong complement to Photoshop, and it's easy to use, even for those who aren't a 3D expert.

Desktop Design App Updates: They've added over 85 new features to core desktop apps like a universal search bar in Photoshop, in-app Adobe Stock search, enhanced control of design with updates like Pixel-perfect artwork in Illustrator, an enhanced Properties Panel in Photoshop and a modern new interface and fast, flexible coding engine in Dreamweaver.

Video Updates: They're pushing video effects further than ever before with the new Cinema 4D rendering engine in After Effects, a VR feature in Premiere Pro that seamlessly detects and applies content settings, and Character Animator that brings characters to life using your own artwork and expressions. With every one of these improvements, they've kept workflow efficiency in mind, making it easier to co-edit and optimise video delivery across social channels.

Mobile App Updates: They've increased the creative power and workflow efficiency for the Creative Cloud mobile apps, and all are now available on Android.
