Exclusive: Resellers go wild for Dicker Data NZ promotion
Thu, 3rd Nov 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kiwi resellers will be heading to Stewart Island later this month after winning a four day ‘real Kiwi adventure' courtesy of Dicker Data New Zealand.

CodeBlue Auckland, Cogent Communications, Lexel Systems, PB Technology, PCMedia, Steve Miezenbeek, The Laptop Company Wellington and VR Concepts, were the winners of the Wild NZ promotion, drawn this week.

Richard Harri, Dicker Data New Zealand volume business unit manager, says the promotion - which was designed to encourage resellers to purchase their volume requirements or reactivate accounts with Dicker Data - was highly successful, achieving double-digit growth in the volume business and a record number of transacting customers.

"Feedback from our customers was that they loved the idea of winning a bucket list trip yet so close to home," he says. "It's often said that many tourists get to see more of our country than we do and Dicker Data want to change that."

Stewart Island was something of a surprise entrant on many resellers' bucket lists when Dicker Data NZ surveyed resellers in preparation for the promotions.

Purchases of any Toshiba, Dell, Wyse, Kingston, Microsoft full packaged product or electronic software delivery products and Targus products earned resellers points in the promotion, with a number of accelerator points also up for grabs during the course of the promotion.

While the competition might be about experiencing a real Kiwi adventure, the winners won't be roughing it. Instead they'll be delivered to Stewart Island on a chartered plane and will stay at the South Seas Hotel with bird watching on Ulva Island and a fishing charter on the cards.

Harri says those on the trip, which will run from 17-20 November, will have 'a very good chance to see our national icon, the Kiwi bird'.

Custom Swanndri jackets are being made to ensure the resellers not only look the part but stay nice and warm, Harri says.

Dicker Data New Zealand has already kicked off its next promotion, which follows the Wild NZ theme, this time offering three resellers the chance to walk the Milford Track in luxury style, with hot showers, fresh linen and three course meals awaiting them each day.
