Mobile Device Management is the systems administrator’s answer to supporting and securing a population of new and ever-changing devices (often brought in through BYOD) which might otherwise hamper corporate productivity. MDM, as implied by the D, concerns itself with the devices and not the data contained on them, seeking to improve their practical usefulness to the business, while retaining user flexibility.
